Pit Models

Source file: 3. pit-models.htm

Pit models in Strategy are block models that meet the following requirements:

  • All blocks have the same dimensions (there are no subblocks).

  • All blocks must be within the ultimate pit limit.

  • All blocks have to be mined.

  • All blocks have a stage variable encoded with one or more stages, phases, or shells, which are encoded in the pit.

  • All blocks have a variable that represents the total tonnage of that block.

  • All blocks have a variable that represents the ore tonnes of that block.

  • All blocks have at least one grade variable that gives the amount of product or metal in each ore tonne.

  • All blocks have a lithology variable with one or more lithologies encoded in the model. This can be used to determine which processes a block’s ore can flow to.

For more information on creating these models, see Block Models.
